IBISKA staff have a strong commitment to our community. We are always looking for opportunities to participate through fund raising events and community focused or environmental projects.
Support for Food Program
IBISKA recognizes the very important work accomplished by the City’s Food Bank and the number of families that count on this support to get through hard times. Our monthly corporate donations aim to provide these families with a helping hand.
IBISKA staff have a tradition of investing time, money and effort in making Holiday Season ‘Food & Goodies Hampers’ to be distributed to families needing extra help during this special time of year. All benefit from this joyous occasion of giving and receiving.
Support our Community
At IBISKA we are well aware that a strong community is essential for businesses to thrive; we aim to give back through ongoing support for community programs. Our office staff have come together to learn and to participate through volunteering time to support these great programs that are providing much needed services to families, children, teens, and individuals going through challenging situations.
We invited the Youth Service Bureau (YSB) to talk about their program for local youths going through tough times. In exchange, the group made batches of cupcakes at the YSB; and collectively purchased 200 pairs of “flip flops” for the youths to use this summer.
Clean the Capital
Over the past 10 years, IBISKA employees have participated in the City of Ottawa “Clean the Capital” program. We have focused our efforts at the Rideau Canal Locks and alongside the Ottawa River, a beautiful site that welcomes residents and tourists through the summer months.
Many bags of trash have been removed from the site every year – Community in Action!
Canoe for Kids
IBISKA staff have participated in the Christie Lake Kids, “Canoe For Kids” event since 2005, a fun canoe race held early in June at Mooney’s Bay. The event helps raise funds to enable children and youth from low income families to attend the Christie Lake summer camp and attend sports and arts after-school programs. Cathy Loosley from IBISKA has been a major contributor and promoter of this event.

Together the IBISKA team has raised $15,000+ every year over the past 8 years for Christie Lake Kids.
Hair Donation for CHEO
Very generous and brave staff members donated their long hair to CHEO to make natural hair wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment. We are so proud of them!

Sandwiches for “The Mission”
Our group spend a morning at ‘The Mission’ to learn about their programs, achievements and challenges.
Our group made sandwiches to be distributed where needed in our city.
Tree Planting
To mark our 20th anniversary in business in August 2015, IBISKA provided 50 treelings and a strong planting crew to help the City of Ottawa with the forestation of a strip of land along Strandherd Rd in Barrhaven. The IBISKA crew joined local residents in their effort to add a bit of nature to their corner of the city.
