New staff CSR committee announcement

IBISKA has a long history of participating in volunteer-based initiatives. We take pride in using IBISKA’s platform to create a positive impact in our community. From paddling in the Christie Lake Canoe for Kids races, to marching in the Action on Climate Change demonstration, to picking up trash along our public pathways in the Cleaning the Capital project, the IBISKA team has fostered a culture of compassion, action, and community involvement over the years.

Global issues such as climate change, food insecurity and discrimination continue to disproportionately affect marginalized groups in our community. To do our part, IBISKA is proud to announce the formation of a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee.

The committee is dedicated to creating positive social change by supporting local organizations who provide services to vulnerable and marginalized populations in Ottawa. It will focus on developing meaningful relationships and raising our own and our community’s awareness about these groups’ challenges. The committee also commits to engaging in internal professional development and policy review on diversity, equity and inclusion.

The CSR Committee mandate is simple: we wish to increase our company’s community involvement by working towards relief for our most vulnerable neighbours in the NCR. Our committee’s actions will include the following:

  • Organizing opportunities for our staff members to get involved and give back to the community through volunteerism.
  • Investing in our internal professional development on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Developing our corporate policies on diversity, equity, and inclusion and workplace safety.

Together we will continue to learn, grow, and act in kindness and compassion in our workplace and in our community!
